Heineken® has launched the #TeamHeineken Experience, an interactive activation set to thrill rugby and non-rugby fans ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2019™knockout phase.
The activation was unveiled at the Rosebank Mall in Johannesburg, demonstrating that everyone can enjoy the spirit of the tournament, whether they know the rules of the game or not.
“Heineken® always aims to create memorable experiences and bring enjoyment through all of our sponsorship platforms and Rugby World Cup 2019™ is no different. This activation is for those who see the Rugby World Cup through a different lens and understand its potential to live as more than a series of rugby matches. It is for those who understand that you don’t need to know the rules of the game to enjoy this social event. We invite South Africans to celebrate the tournament with us.” – Lauren Muller, Marketing Manager Heineken® South Africa
The #TeamHeineken Experience blends Heineken®’s premium beer with cutting-edge technology, including a virtual reality kicking game. There are also opportunities to win Heineken® and Rugby World Cup 2019™ merchandise.
Fans can also get a taste of the alcohol-free Heineken® 0.0 from the revolutionary Heineken® Blade draught system and stand a chance to receive a limited-edition personalised Heineken® Rugby World Cup 2019™ bottle.
The #TeamHeineken Experience activation is free of charge to anyone of legal drinking age in South Africa. Doors open 10am to 6pm daily for the duration of Rugby World Cup 2019™.
“Rugby fans in South Africa are known the world over for their passion for the game. With Heineken® the Rugby World Cup™ is not just about the diehard rugby fan. The tournament offers the chance to get together to enjoy one of the world’s greatest sporting spectacles.” – Former Rugby World Cup™ winning captain John Smit
Along with the #TeamHeineken Experience activation, Heineken® will bring a Japanese stadium experience to South Africa through a final match viewing. In true Heineken® style, this viewing experience will have some of South Africa’s biggest acts performing prior to kick-off.
