Playing for Pink Ladies Invitational Polo 2019 returns to the prestigious Inanda Club in Sandton for its fifth consecutive year. Presented by Edith Venter Promotions, in association with Whirlpool, this highly anticipated event will take place on Saturday, 26 October, with “Pink Tropical” as the electrifying theme for the day.
Prepare to be hosted in the epitome of style while enjoying luxury hospitality in the city and rubbing shoulders with some of South Africa’s elite. The day promises to surprise and delight guests with incredible entertainment, gourmet food, high-fashion, pampering, luxury shopping and excellent sportsmanship.
Importantly, Playing for Pink coincides with Breast Cancer Awareness month and is aimed at educating the public about breast cancer while raising money for Reach for Recovery and the Ditto Project.
Reach For Recovery is a non-profit organisation that leverages the experience and compassion of women in cancer remission to facilitate the support and care of newly diagnosed breast cancer patients as well as those currently under-going treatments. Its Ditto Project, which is aimed at assisting women from lower-income brackets, who cannot afford to undergo reconstructive surgery, to be fitted with external breast prostheses to regain their confidence and dignity after a mastectomy, will benefit from the day’s proceedings.
“We are expecting a great turnout on the day, which will ensure real opportunities to make a difference for the beneficiaries of Reach for Recovery’s Ditto Project. This comprehensive non-medical programme, which has been created to help women with breast cancer, is based on the premise that former breast cancer patients, now physically and emotionally healthy, can relate in a unique and positive way to newly diagnosed patients,” – CEO of Edith Venter Promotions, Edith Venter.
Whirlpool is proud to be associated with such an impactful cause that makes a difference to women through their journey and recovery from breast cancer.
“As a brand, we provide products that make life easier for people so that they can spend more time doing the important things, such as enjoying the company of family and friends,” -Whirlpool National Product Trainer, Deidre Naude.
“Each year, the event is bigger and better than the previous year, raising increasingly more money to help women with breast cancer. We hope this trend continues and that even more funds are raised this year,” – Naude
Guests will be spoilt for choice with retail therapy and luxury shopping as well as the opportunity to relax and enjoy a pampering session at the salon, with make-up, nails and hair sponsored by Clarins, SOHO and Holistic Hair.
The energetic, fast-paced polo matches will be followed by a fashion show from Polo South Africa. “We are humbled to be the official fashion sponsor for the Playing for Pink Ladies Invitational Polo 2019, not only because it educates the public about breast cancer while raising money for such worthy causes but being a part of this event is a great opportunity to support fashion with a purpose and to help those who are vulnerable in our society,” says Marketing Manager or Polo South Africa, Aneesa Swart.
Guests will be treated to special performances by talented South African artists and the event promises to be a day of glamour and goodwill that will touch the lives of many.
