INTERVIEW: Amanda Black Talks SAMA23 Nominations

We recently had a brief chat with award winning artist Amanda Black at the South African Music Awards Nomination Announcement at Destiny Exclusive Hotel to find out more about how she feels about her #SAMA23 nominations:

Firstly, to be nominated for the SAMA’s is a big deal for me!

Amazulu was the first song I recorded after I signed under Ambitiouz Entertainment. It is made up of everything I was feeling in the past few years – A journey through love, family and music. The song also talks about me going through changes and growing up and out of pain. To witness it get so much recognition from the industry and fans makes me happy!…Mawavuleke Amazulu!

“I am a lionesses and I’m about to roar even more”

I was hoping I would be nominated for the SAMA’s just as I was with the previous award show. I am nominated for New Comer Of The Year, Female Artist Of The Year, Best R&B/Soul Reggae Album, Album Of The Year & Record Of The Year. From these nominations, I really hope I take home Record Of The Year.

This has always been my dream. I have always seen myself performing on big stages and winning awards. All of this is happening right now and I am very grateful for it. This is my time!

My passion for music keeps me going, also the support that I have from my family and friends when I go through obstacles in the industry. Thank you to my fans who have always shown me support from day one.
